Join fellow humanists to learn about topics you likely didn’t get in school: the history, art, and culture of Black Minnesotans. The three current exhibits we will view at the museum cover: resilience of Black Minnesotans in history, Black liberation and dismantling racism 1800s — 1960s, and a community quilt project.
The Minnesota African Heritage Museum and Gallery opened in North Minneapolis in 2018. Museum admission is free – but donations are greatly appreciated!
Estimated time at the museum is 60-90 minutes, then we will go to lunch nearby, likely at Lowry Cafe, 2207 Lowry Ave. N., Minneapolis.
