Humanists Join Friends of the Boundary Waters Rally

Friends of the Boundary Waters Wilderness has drafted a suite of bills designed to update our laws and allow agencies to better serve Minnesotans and the water and wilderness we’re so famous for. Join FBWW and ally organizations to advocate for these bills! Look for the HumanistsMN tshirt inside the Rotunda after signing in. (If you come earlier than the rally we can coordinate meeting via meetup)

The Rally is 2-3pm – and you can contact Maggie to set up time with your legislators during the day, beginning at about 1030am: Email maggie@friends-bwca.org . They have breakfast/coffee down in the L’Etoile du Nord Vault Room B15, Lower Level starting at 10am.

To contact your legislator online and see full event and Parking information, go here
. It is possible to park near the Green Line light rail, such as at Dale Street and ride the train in.

One bill is the Prove-It-First bill. It would require independent scientific proof that a copper-sulfide mine has operated elsewhere in the United States for at least ten years without causing pollution AND has been closed for at least ten years without causing pollution.
