HABITS OF HUMANISM Mindful Living: Attending to Community

Humans are social creatures — having evolved to thrive within localized supportive communities. But in today’s world, many of our traditional community ties have fractured and/or become alienating. How can a practice of mindfulness draw us into community with one another meaningfully — or help us create the places of belonging and support that we seek? Join us for this exploration of the intersection of community life and the practice of mindfulness.

We will begin with a guided meditation, followed by an overview of the topic and ensuing discussion. Attendees are invited to share their own life experiences and lessons with the group.

All are welcome in the spirit of compassion as we seek to support one another toward greater well-being.

Each month we explore a different aspect of mindfulness and its associated practice from a secular humanist and naturalist perspective — drawing on the experience and wisdom of participants. This month’s session is facilitated by Humanist Celebrant, Audrey Kingstrom.
