This month we will continue our discussion of Michael J. Sandel’s “Justice: What’s the Right Thing To Do,” considering the book’s final five chapters. In these chapters, Sandel reviews John Rawls’ influential “Theory of Justice” as well as the “virtue ethics” approach initially proposed by Aristotle. The book concludes with a presentation of Sandel’s own communitarian perspective which focuses on the common good.

Published in 2009, “Justice” is available from Amazon for $10. Though it covers a wide range of deep philosophical issues, the book is well written, accessible, and only 269 pages long. You are welcome to join us even if you didn’t attend the first session or haven’t read the book, but would like to participate or just listen in on a discussion of these matters.
