All Welcome! Please join us at this month’s HumanistsMN Community Gathering to hear guest speaker Kevin Lindsey, Chief Executive Officer of the Minnesota Humanities Center. Discussion to follow. Stay for social hour at 4:30 with nibbles and drinks.
The humanities have an important role to play in facilitating a more inclusive world for all — especially in the way they provide an opportunity to amplify stories of people who are not in the public mainstream. Lindsey will give a presentation on the Center’s work to realize its vision of a more just society that is curious, connected, and passionate.
HumanistsMN policy requires that all attendees at our in-person events be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. For those unable to attend in person, we will be live streaming the event and posting it to our You Tube page. (A link will be provided later.)
Kevin Lindsey, Minnesota Humanities Center CEO and Founder of Lindsey Law and Consulting, has sought to find solutions, amplify voice, and expand economic opportunities for marginalized communities during his thirty-year career. Prior to coming to the Humanities Center, Lindsey was Commissioner of Human Rights for the State of Minnesota for eight years under the Dayton administration.
As a member of the Governor’s cabinet, Kevin worked on a variety of initiatives to expand business development and economic opportunities and civic engagement for racial, ethnic, and indigenous communities. Kevin is also a current Commissioner of the St. Paul Public Housing Authority where he has worked for the past 25 years to increase affordable housing supply and create opportunities for first time homeowners.
