Guest Speaker: At this session, Christine Lewis will speak on Grief and Depression. Chris’s teenage son died in an accident several years ago. For many years, she was involved with the Compassionate Friends grief group that focuses on the death of children. In addition, Chris is a Certified Grief Counselor and Clinical Specialist in Mental Health Nursing.
This grief group is for secular people who have experienced a recent or not-so-recent loss. For those who want a place to process that loss and their on-going grief. A place to remember a loved one and to express difficult emotions — or a place to process “ambiguous” grief. A place to share with and support others in a life riven with grief.
We meet online on the first Thursday of each month and in-person on the third Thursday at the First Unitarian Society.
This is a peer-led group for people with no belief in a higher power or consciousness and for those who have no belief in an afterlife. We offer no professional grief counseling. Participants are encouraged to speak to their own loss and share their current challenges with grief.
Feel free to drop in one time or join us on a regular basis as desired.
