**Performance summary:** “A dynamic and comedic solo performance by actor Mikell Sapp, *Charlie (Brown) Black* chronicles his trials and successes in becoming a theatre artist and navigating the challenges of race as a young Black man from Alabama encountering the culture shock of Minnesota. This raw and entertaining comic strip style telling weaves stories, memories and reflections on today’s complicated racial landscape to take audiences on a wild ride that illuminates struggles, faces hard truths and celebrates triumphs. With vulnerability and wit, *Charlie (Brown) Black* explores what it means to be a Black artist in an ever “awakening” world and continues the legacy of Black humor and storytelling that reminds us of our connections and reflects our humanity.
