Have you recently joined HumanistsMN? If so, we invite you to a New Member Welcome and Orientation. It’s your opportunity to get more acquainted with our community, find ways to get involved, learn about our events, and get to know fellow members.

HMN leaders will tell you about our recent activities and answer any questions you may have.

Afterward, please stay for our monthly Community Gathering at 3 p.m., featuring Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison as our speaker, followed by a Q&A. At 4:30 we’ll break for socializing over snacks and drinks. You can RSVP for the event here. Childcare is available upon request by November 7 by emailing editor@humanistsmn.org.

We are thrilled that you have joined our all-volunteer humanist organization, where people like you come together to connect and make a positive impact on the world.

As a secular humanist group, our mission is to promote ethical living, human flourishing, and care for the planet both locally and globally through our commitment to science, reason, compassion, and creativity. We believe in the power of human connection, empathy, and shared values to create a better world for everyone. In short, we don’t believe in a god—we believe in good.

Here’s what you can expect from being a new member of HumanistsMN:

1. Find opportunities for meaningful service: We offer a variety of opportunities to engage with and support our local community, such as volunteering and outreach, advocating for separation of religion and government, and fundraising for organizations like Camp Quest North, a secular summer youth camp.

2. Connect with like-minded individuals: Our community allows you to meet and collaborate with people who share your commitment to humanistic values.

3. Personal growth: Being a part of HMN provides opportunities for personal growth, from learning new skills to gaining valuable experience in community engagement and leadership.

4. Inclusive and welcoming environment: We embrace diversity and inclusivity. Regardless of your background or identity, you are welcome here.

We firmly believe that by working together, we can bring about positive change and contribute to a more compassionate and equitable society without the influence of religion.

Join us at the orientation session to learn more!
