The Food Group welcomes (and needs) volunteer teams!
Join fellow humanists and freethinkers to help sort and pack food at the Food Group Warehouse. The food we sort and pack will eventually be distributed to the nearly 200 food shelves the Food Group services. The Food Group is a secular, NON-faith based non-profit organization whose mission is to “serve the hunger needs of our changing communities”.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, they are limiting the teams to a maximum of 18 per 2-hour shift. Volunteers between the ages of 12-16 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
The following is from the The Food Group:
Thank you for signing up to volunteer at The Food Group! All participants
MUST fill out an electronic volunteer waiver at
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScIPO3dr0vIxnMjWZ19cIW8CuX-t7dX-Q47BH8ed7m7nSFDHA/viewform
We will begin promptly at the scheduled shift time- please try to arrive 5-10 minutes early to wash hands and get settled so we can begin right at 1:00!
Don’t forget to wear close-toed shoes, and wear something comfortable for working in a warehouse. Volunteers are required to wear either a fabric or disposable face mask while they are in our facilities. Please wear a mask to your volunteer shift. The Food Group has masks available if you do not have access to one. We look forward to hosting you as we complete this important work for our community!
Hope to see you there!
P.S.: Please remember to keep your RSVP up to date, so that people on the wait-list can sign up and we can show up with a full crew!
