Procrastination is a perennial problem for so many of us. We procrastinate when we feel negative emotions – anxiety, boredom, frustration, pressure – toward a task. Because these emotions are uncomfortable, we try to avoid them. Hence, we procrastinate. This month we will explore how a mindful practice can help us overcome the challenges of getting things done in a necessary and timely fashion.
We will begin with a guided meditation, followed by discussion. Attendees are invited to share their own life experiences and lessons with the group.
All are welcome in the spirit of compassion as we seek to support one another toward greater well-being.
Each month we explore a different aspect of mindfulness and its associated practice from a secular humanist and naturalist perspective — drawing on the experience and wisdom of participants. This month’s session is facilitated by HumanistsMN member and mindfulness practitioner, Abigail Jackson.
This event is sponsored by HumanistsMN. If you are not yet a member, please consider joining to help us cover our costs and build the humanist movement. Not ready to join? Donations are gratefully accepted! Join or donate at https://humanistsmn.org/
