Humanists acknowledge that we, as a species, are an integral part of the natural world — like all other animals. To flourish, we must live in harmony with nature — not alienate ourselves from it. But our modern culture too often de-emphasizes, undervalues, obscures, and distorts our relationship with the natural world. In this session, we will explore how mindful practices can keep us more attuned to nature — especially during this autumn season — to reap the benefits of our connection to the natural world.

We will begin with a guided meditation, followed by an overview of the topic and ensuing discussion. Attendees are invited to share their own life experiences and lessons with the group.

All are welcome in the spirit of compassion as we seek to support one another toward greater well-being.

Each month we explore a different aspect of mindfulness and its associated practice from a secular humanist and naturalist perspective — drawing on the experience and wisdom of participants. This month’s session is facilitated by Humanist Celebrant, Audrey Kingstrom.
