“Between a human and a tree is the breath. We are each other’s air.” (Margaret Bates) By the time our April session comes around, I suspect spring will be in the air. And then, might we better notice that moment by moment we breathe into that reciprocity of the greening natural world? It is a part of us and we are a part of it. How does this awareness inform our daily lives, drive our habits and pastimes, shape our commitments? How can a mindfulness practice help us live “green” and offer benefits to our own well-being — and the world around us?

We will begin with a guided meditation, followed by some reflection on our interdependence with the natural world. Come share your thoughts and experiences on the benefits and challenges of living in harmony and connecting with nature.

All are welcome in the spirit of compassion as we seek to support one another toward greater well-being.

Each month we explore a different aspect of mindfulness and its associated practice from a secular humanist and naturalist perspective — drawing on the experience and wisdom of participants. This month’s session is facilitated by Audrey Kingstrom, Humanist Celebrant and HumanistsMN Program Coordinator.
