Human beings are valuers. It’s in our nature to construct dualities, comparisons, categories, divisions. While this ability has had many benefits for our species, it also has done great harm — to others and even ourselves. So, what are the limits of judgment? How can nonjudgment lead to greater insight and compassion? And how can we move from constant judgment of self and others toward deeper awareness and wisdom through discernment?

We will begin with a guided meditation, followed by some reflections on nonjudgment and discernment. Attendees are invited to share their own life experiences and lessons with the group.

All are welcome in the spirit of compassion as we seek to support one another toward greater well-being.

Each month we explore a different aspect of mindfulness and its associated practice from a secular humanist and naturalist perspective — drawing on the experience and wisdom of participants. This month’s session is facilitated by Audrey Kingstrom, Humanist Celebrant and HumanistsMN Program Coordinator.

This event is sponsored by HumanistsMN. If you are not yet a member, please consider joining to help us cover our costs and build the humanist movement. Not ready to join? Donations are gratefully accepted! Join or donate at https://humanistsmn.org/
