We all now exist in our own experiential and algorithmic bubbles. The world around us is buzzing with attempts to gain our attention and we seem to be drifting in and out of a battle to filter and evaluate that flood. This month D-Squared wants to look at how the world does it’s thing and how we do ours.
THIS IS AN ONLINE EVENT.
D-Squared, (Discussion and Debate) is a monthly gathering hosted alternatively by Jerry Smith and Mark Thoson of the Humanists of MN. This month, Mark will lead the discussion. Normally we meet in person on the first Saturday of the month and do a Zoom version on the following Tuesday. BUT THIS MONTH, BECAUSE OF HIGH COVID NUMBERS, Mark is scheduling both dates as online gatherings.
The talks are independent, not continuations so please choose the one that fits your schedule the best.
As usual there are links below to provide context and insight into our discussion. Hopefully you will take time to read what you can and bring your perspective on them to our discussion.
You’ll find that the links explore why we share information, (fake and otherwise), how the world of attention marketing tries to engage us, what our brains are wired for, and what the future may hold in this regard. Happy reading!
