Good News! Coffee and Current Events will be meeting in person for the summer months (June thru September). And, yes, we will return to our favorite coffee shop, Dunn Brothers Coffee in Loring Park. So, for a few months at least you can enjoy their great coffee, pastries, etc. while we discuss the critical social and political issues of the day.

As humanists we are interested in seeing the world around us evolve to conform with our humanist principles. For example, seeing the U.S. Congress actually do something about climate change, the proliferation of guns, etc. Unfortunately, however, the Senate (because of the filibuster) is controlled by people who don’t believe in science and misinterpret the Constitution. What is a humanist to do?

Of course, taking action to make the world a better place is always appropriate. But sometimes we just need to unwind at the end of the week and be in the company of others who share the same concerns. There will be no facilitator and there is no need for preparation. Come as you are.

This event is sponsored by HumanistsMN. If you are not already a member, please consider joining to help us cover our costs and build the humanist movement. Sign up at
