Worried about the rise of Christian nationalism, the supermajority on the Supreme Court who don’t respect the separation of religion and government, and the spate of dogma-influenced anti-abortion and anti-LGBTQ laws? Come to an informal gathering on the eve of the National Day of Reason to discuss ways that we can increase our political clout.

Our special guest will be Sarah Levin, founder of Secular Strategies, a consulting firm that works with its clients—including Center for Freethought Equality, Jews for a Secular Democracy, Secular Democrats of America, and others—to be effective champions of secularism in the United States.

Sarah recently joined[ OnlySky](https://onlysky.media/), a new independent media company providing journalism, storytelling, and opinion from a secular perspective. She will tell us why we need our own media space to counter efforts to restrict content considered anti-religious.

The event will take place at [La Doña Cervecería](https://dameladona.com/), a unique Latin-influenced taproom/brewery in the Harrison neighborhood. Come to eat, drink, and socialize. Sarah will make a few remarks at 6 p.m., followed by a Q and A.

Sarah will also be speaking at a Day of Reason event at the Capitol on May 5. We hope to see you there as well! ([Register here as soon as possible](https://www.eventbrite.com/e/national-day-of-reason-2022-at-the-state-capitol-tickets-98624573755).) But if you can’t make it, here is your chance to hear from a prominent national advocate for secular values.

Sarah worked for the Secular Coalition for America from 2013–2019 in various roles, including director of government relations and director of grassroots programs. She serves as a co-chair of the Democratic National Committee’s Interfaith Council and is the first open atheist to serve on the council.

This event is sponsored by HumanistsMN and Minnesota Atheists.
