Community Gatherings

HumanistsMN sponsors a monthly gathering for our community at 3 p.m. on the third Saturday of the month. Everyone is welcome at these free get-togethers, which are being held over Zoom during the pandemic. We host engaging speakers on humanism, social issues, political affairs, science, and other topics of interest to world citizens. We take a break in June, July, and August, when we  hold outdoor picnics with other secular groups (public health standards permitting). More about our Community Gatherings.

Calendar

Every month, we host a wide-ranging selection of events, from presentations, book clubs, workshops, socializing, and more. Whatever humanism means to you, you can probably find an activity to express/explore it. Check out all the upcoming events and ways to connect with others who share your secular values. More about our Calendar.

Activism

Our members are passionate about making the world a better place for all. We have a Social Action Team and sponsor a variety of community-service activities to further our humanist values. More about our Social Activism.

National Day of Reason

We plan an annual event to commemorate the National Day or Reason, which honors the principles of secular lawmaking and separation of religion and government. We held an online event on May 7, 2020, featuring national and local speakers. See the video here. See photos of the 2019 event, which took place at the Minnesota State Capitol.

Winter Solstice Celebration

We alternate with Minnesota Atheists to plan a Winter Solstice Celebration, hosting in odd-numbered years. See photos from the 2019 Winter Solstice Celebration. Minnesota Atheists has tentatively cancelled the 2020 celebration because of difficulties presented by COVID-19.
