Curt Leavitt, a longtime HumanistsMN member, died in March. Friends remember him as a critical thinker and dedicated humanist. “Curt led me to the Skeptical Inquirer magazine and from there we connected with the American Humanist Association and the then Council for Secular Humanism,” recalls HMN member Paul Heffron.
“He was very strong in his adherence to humanism and it shaped the way he conducted his life,” he says. “At a critical time in my life he came to my rescue. I think I was not the only one to benefit from his outgoing humanist disposition.”
Paul and his wife, Peg, attended a Humanist Celebration of Life for Curt in August.
